Common questions

Can I use LendPromise without paying?▾
Yes. The Free tier covers IOU tracking, group expense splitting, payment-app deep links, and one active formal loan. Most people never need Pro.
What counts as an "active formal loan"?▾
A loan you created on the Formal Loans tab with a payment schedule. Settled, paid-off, or closed loans don't count toward the limit. Casual IOUs and group expenses are always free and unlimited.
Why does the iOS or Android price match the web price?▾
Apple and Google charge a percentage of in-app subscriptions (15% for most apps in their first $1M of revenue). We absorb that cost so the price is the same wherever you sign up.
Can I cancel anytime?▾
Yes. No long-term commitment, no cancellation fee. Your Pro features stay active through the end of the current billing period.
Do you charge per loan or per signature?▾
No. Pro is a flat subscription — unlimited loans and unlimited signed promissory notes included. Free users can create 1 active formal loan but can't add the e-signature.
What about payment processing fees?▾
When loan repayments are routed through LendPromise (via Stripe), we pass the card or ACH processing fee through to the payer and add a 0.5% platform fee. These are not subscription fees — they're tied to actual money movement. Most people settle outside the app via Venmo / Zelle / cash and never see processing fees.
