LendPromise, Inc. ("LendPromise," "we," "us," or "our") operates the LendPromise platform at lendpromise.com. We provide tools to help individuals create, track, and manage personal loans between people they know. We are not a bank, lender, or financial institution.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Name and email address (when you create an account)
• Phone number (optional, used for SMS reminders)
• Profile photo (optional, stored securely)
• Loan details you enter (amounts, terms, purpose)
• Payment information (processed by Stripe — we never store card numbers)
• Messages sent through the platform
• Support ticket content

Information collected automatically

• IP address and browser type
• Pages visited and features used
• Device information (operating system, screen size)
• Timestamps of actions taken in the app

Information we do NOT collect

• Social Security Numbers or government IDs
• Credit scores or credit history
• Bank account credentials (Plaid handles bank linking securely)
• Card numbers (Stripe handles payment data — PCI compliant)

• Process loan creation, tracking, and payment activities
• Send payment reminders and notifications you have requested
• Generate contracts and loan documents at your request
• Provide customer support
• Improve and develop the platform

No system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at security@lendpromise.com.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Loan records are retained for 7 years after loan closure to comply with standard financial recordkeeping practices. You may request deletion of your account at any time — see Section 9.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and make the platform function. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work correctly.

9. Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

• Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correction — Update incorrect or incomplete information
• Deletion — Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Portability — Export your loan history as a PDF or CSV
• Opt-out — Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
• SMS opt-out — Reply STOP to any SMS to unsubscribe

10. Credit Snapshots

LendPromise offers an optional "Credit Snapshot" add-on for users who want additional confidence before finalizing a loan. Here is what you need to know:

• Soft pull only — Credit snapshots use a soft inquiry, which does not affect the borrower's credit score.
• Consent required — The borrower must explicitly consent before any credit check is initiated. We will never run a credit check without permission.
• Optional — This feature is never required to create or use a loan on LendPromise.
• Who sees it — Only the lender who requested and paid for the snapshot can view the report. We do not store or share it beyond that.
• Third-party provider — Credit data is sourced from Experian or Equifax via their partner APIs. Their privacy policies apply to the credit data itself.
• Not a credit decision — LendPromise does not make lending decisions. The snapshot is informational only, provided to a private individual for their own use.

11. Children's Privacy

LendPromise is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at privacy@lendpromise.com and we will promptly delete the account.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email and display a notice in the app at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of LendPromise after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
